How I think about the coaching process:
I know that the client/coach partnership is at the heart of successful coaching.
And I know that professional challenges and personal issues are “all of a piece.”
With my background as a business person and psychotherapist, I’m exceptionally well-qualified to integrate these two domains in addressing your concerns.
My role is to:
- Ask the right and sometimes hard questions
- Identify the connections between your personal and professional concerns
- Approach problem-solving creatively and pragmatically
- “Connect the dots” in new, thought-provoking ways
- Provide direct, honest feedback
- Use humor to maintain my own and your perspective
Your role is to be:
- Active in the coaching relationship
- Committed to trying out new behaviors
- Willing to give and take honest feedback
- Consistent in completing “homework”
Working with me will help you :
- See how all the pieces in your life fit together
- Navigate your world better
- Brainstorm to discover creative solutions
- Identify options you don’t know you have
- Develop “experiments” to try out new behaviors
- Communicate more effectively
Coaching is a guided process:
- Evaluating your life objectively
- Identifying what you value
- Exploring choices you may not know you have
- Developing a life plan and action steps
- Improving your communication skills
